A New Malbec from Uco Valley to Discover

Familia Deicas crosses borders once again to present Valle de Uco Malbec, a vibrant expression of the iconic Mendocino terroir, furthering its exploration of Argentina’s most renowned vineyards.

For years, Bodega Familia Deicas has been expanding its horizons, passionately exploring the region’s most prestigious terroirs. Their journey in Mendoza began in Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo, birthplace of some of Argentina’s most celebrated Malbec wines.

Today, our winery takes a new step towards the Valle de Uco, a place where altitude and climate create ideal conditions for wines with natural freshness, great concentration, and unmistakable elegance.

“We feel deeply inspired by Mendoza’s great terroirs. After working with Perdriel, moving into Valle de Uco was a natural choice to continue interpreting Malbec through our unique vision,” explains Santiago Deicas, winemaker at Familia Deicas.

The Soul of Valle de Uco in Every Glass

The vineyards of Valle de Uco sit between 1,000 and 1,250 meters above sea level. This altitude ensures moderate daytime temperatures and cool nights, extending the ripening cycle and preserving the grape’s natural acidity.

The new Familia Deicas Valle de Uco Malbec is crafted with extended maceration to extract maximum fruit expression and structure. It is partially aged in second-use French oak barrels, adding complexity while preserving the fruit’s fresh character.

The result: a wine of deep red color, with intense aromas of black fruits like blackberries and plums, subtle floral notes, and elegant hints of spices and vanilla. On the palate, it is juicy, with silky tannins and a long, lingering finish that invites you to keep discovering every sip.

“We’ve always been inspired by the oceanic influence in our Uruguayan wines, and when we arrived in Valle de Uco, we found a high-altitude climate offering similar freshness but with its own unique personality,” says Santiago Deicas. “Our goal is to capture that vibrant energy, with intense fruit expression and silky tannins, crafting a Malbec that remains true to the character of Valle de Uco and to the philosophy of Familia Deicas.”

A Collection of Exceptional Terroirs

With this launch, Familia Deicas reaffirms its commitment to exploring the finest terroirs across the continent, offering wine lovers the opportunity to enjoy unique interpretations of Malbec.

Today, the winery proudly presents two Malbecs from two of Mendoza’s iconic regions: Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo, and now Valle de Uco, completing a map of great expressions of Argentina’s flagship varietal.
